Boat had a Robertson AP-100 installed (with linear drive) when I bought it but was missing the control unit (cockpit
control box with knobs) which had apparently died and not been replaced. Have seen some used control units avail on E-bay, etc but no idea if it's worth
buying one since I have no idea if the
parts I still have
work. Questions:
Is there any relatively easy way to find out if the remaining installed
parts (linear drive,
compass, computer, RF unit)
work before
buying an old used control
head which may or may not have it's own issues?
Does anyone know if any of the new
SIMRAD AP controllers would be backwards compatable with my (entire or selected components like the linear drive) existing system? I admit I haven't checked with
Simrad tech suport yet....
