Replacing Magma burner

Not sure this is the right forum for this so feel free to redirect me. Have an old rusted out Magma burner with gaping hole. Ordered the 18" replacement but having a heckuva time figuring out how to access and remove the old burner.

Re: Replacing Magma burner

Tom,
You don't say what model of Magma you own, but on my Cabo all of the internal parts are held in place by small hitch pins. I suspect yours is different as the pins are very visible and easy to remove.

Hi jstephens. Thanks for the quick reply. Took some pics with my phone but don't see how to insert them. The image icon asks for a url.

Re: Replacing Magma burner

Apologies jstevens for the mispell. I don't see any pins. There is a v shaped metal piece right above the burner that appears to be soldered in place. I don't see a way to access the old burner without removing that.

Re: Replacing Magma burner

If you look at your 2nd photo, you can see where the metal V thing just slips into a groove beside the burner screw. That just lifts out. I'm not sure what is going on at the right end but you only need to be able to unscrew the left end of the burner and it just slides out easily once you disconnect your regulator.

Re: Replacing Magma burner

Thanks John. I did actually end up figuring that out before I opened your most recent reply just now. That was correct. Had to wrestle with the screw on the left as it was badly rusted but did manage to remove it. The grill is connected directly to our lpg tanks so had to remove the controller on the right and reconnect to the new burner. The rest was easy and all good now. Thanks again for your help.

All best,
Tom
