The
cockpit on our
boat is made of
teak boards butted up to each other. over the last 25 years, a crack developed where the boards meet.
Where the board meets the bulkhead, there was some insanely strong bedding
adhesive that took me over an hour to cut through. (no doubt there was an easier way, I was limited in my tools.
I have the board out, and it fits nicely with the existing board still on the
boat.
I filled the screw holes, so I will drill new ones matching the ones in the board (the holes were punky and likely not in the right location, as the
wood shrunk a bit.
what would be the best practice to re-install the board? Glue it down? use a bedding compound (if so, which one?)
