Removing registration number from hypalon

I have a rather nice Achilles dink with the roll up aluminum floor. The dink is lightly used and is usually kept in the garage. So while the dink looks good the registration numbers are looking shoddy. They were applied using the West Marine stencil kit and presumably some form of vinyl paint. I would like to remove/replace them.

Does anyone have good suggestion for the removal that won't damage the hypalon?

TIA
Rich

Just repaint a rectangle over them.

Well, this didn't work out as well as I had hoped ....sigh..... I guess that I'll have to figure this one out on my own. Thanks, to the respondent and to all the viewers.

Re: Removing registration number from hypalon

Rich.

I've fitted over 460 tubes for Avon inflatables and the standard for removing excess glue from Hypalon was Acetone.

So long as you avoid letting acetone sit still on the tube it won't mark the Hypalon.

Keep it moving over the letters using a wetted rag wrapped over a blunt instrument. Be careful of runs and drips which could mark the tube, not obviously but it will.

Post back when you're done as it'd be good for others to know.

Good luck.

Edit>> Make sure its Hypalon!
