Reinforcing Companion Way Stairs

the sides of my stairs are starting to crack a little and im trying to be proactive. they are fiber glass on a hunter 33 1988 . i was thinking of running metal strips on the inside and just screwing them down. Trying to avoid the mess of actually doing fiberglass.. any other sugestions. thanks

Do you have a photo of whats going on? Not all of us are familiar with the Hunter 33 steps. Could give you better advice with a visual. Good luck in your fix.
