Refit of our Dufour

Howdy,

we are refitting our 35-footer.
Maybe it is interesting for you looking what we are doing.
Here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?lis...iWw30dhCO7Rtlv is the playlist.

We are now building a tent above the boat, so we are able to remove all hatches etc and work further this year. (this episode i will upload next week or the week after that) Importent aspect; it costs us nearly nothing.

Regards from the Netherlands.
Taco.

Some work was done at the anchor locker.
Man, i wasn't aware that working in such spaces is difficult and exhausting.

Re: Refit of our Dufour

I did not have time to view all your videos but Interior #3 caught my attention - I love your comment, "One could ask. Where do I start."

That is so familiar to me - As I am about to start rebuilding the interior.

taking apart is fun and progress is fast until it is all done and then I ask myself , What have I done? Am I crazy! Will I ever get this back together again."

Good luck!

I like this picture. It shows how well those Dufours are built. It seems in the USA they are a bit off the radar and people don't talk about them much. I bet the average Bene, Caliber or Catalina doesn't look like that!
Friends of mine circumnavigated in a 34 Dufour.

Great progress! I love older Dufours. The 35 is my favorite. Keep up the great work.

I love the Dufour 39 Center Cockpit. Once I drooled over it a boat show, then years later I took a course on Georgian Bay and the course was on one of these boats.

Living board was easy but it was a lot of boat to sail.

Thanks for the thread

Re: Refit of our Dufour

Great job! You have a well built boat, certainly a much stronger one than is produced today.

Doing a great job.
I saw the one you remove the bottom paint one square inch at a time. That is a lesson on patience and perseverance. Hats off to you!!

Good luck on the project and thanks for sharing - I'll be keeping an eye on your work.
