Refirbishing Irwin Citation 30

I have purchased and am refurbishing a 1983 Irwin Citation 30. Would like comments from other Irwin Citation owners. I have already researched and had some luck in finding replacement parts for some systems.

There's a lot to do but the basic features (hull, motor, etc.) are in good shape.

It's the little things. For example. I removed the microwave which didn't work. Later I found that the opening is only 9 1/2 inches high and I can not find a retail model small enough to fit the opening. Would like to know what brand others have and where I might find one that would fit.
This is just the first of a number of questions to come.

Are there other owners out there that can share their knowledge and experience.

Re: Refirbishing Irwin Citation 30

My next question is "where can I find manuals which show details on the systems and where they are located". I have some wiring problems both in the boat and in the systems at the top of the mast.

I have not yet located the water heater which does not work. I need to see if it is getting power or if the heater has failed.

I have some water leakage around the portholes in the cabin which needs to be fixed. Suggestions on that.

I want to fix the cause of problems before I start cosmetics.

I love sailing the boat. Under sail, she's great.

Goggle Irwin sailboat. There a web site you should find info there. My heater was in the engine room(&#128512. Leaking ports is not unusual. Remove them and rebed is the best way.

There are some mini microwaves being sold out there, although they seem to be a little harder to find locally than they used to be. You just have to check all the big box stores or on line. They are listed here down to .5 cu ft: http://www.minimicrowaveovens.com/

Good idea on getting the basic up to snuff first. Hard to recommend what to do with the leaking portholes unless we know what type they are; plastic? Bronze etc. Are they leaking around the installation or thru the gasket?
