1. Is the wood teak
2. Do you want it to retain a natural, wood look and finish?
If yes to the above there are three common options for boats
1. Leave it natural and let it turn silver/gray. Requires period cleaning
it. Easy but builds up over time, looks like freshly sanded wood, oil
attracts dirt, only lasts a few months and has to be redone.
. More work, needs 8-10 coats to last, looks beautiful, protects the wood, once a year a light sanding
and 1-2 fresh coats will keep it nice for years before you have to strip to bare wood and start over.
