Propane Solenoid location

Looking at replacing the coroded parts of our propane system in the propane locker.

Currently we have the Propane Solenoid on the high side, but looking at the diagrams on Trident's side they seem to put in on the low side. Since I'm looking at this solenoid (http://afcvalves.com/mod121.html) is there any reason not to put on the high side (it's 312 PSI rated).

thanks,
Geoff.

Re: Propane Solenoid location

I'd put it on the high side. If it were on the low side a diaphragm failure on the regulator would leak even with the solenoid valve shut.

Re: Propane Solenoid location

High side with pressure gauge between tank and solenoid. That way you can more easily check for leaks between tank valve and the solenoid. Close solenoid and tank valve. Watch pressure for a leak.
