prepping for haulout

Hello neighbors..!

I need to paint my bottom, remove the mast, etc....

Are there any reads on how-to prep your boat for haul out...?

Thanks, Robb

prepping for haulout

Hi blue,
We just went through this exercise for the very first time and probably over prepped.
Take some photos of the wiring before unstepping the mast so you can easily put it together afterwards.
We bought a heap of protective gear for sanding but didn't buy decent rollers or a sanding pole...we did use the plaster board sanding sheets and found them way better than the sandpaper. We didn't use a power sander, wet sanding by hand wasn't that bad. We should have got ourselves a buffer for the top sides paintwork though.
On protective gear...we were surprised how many other people were sanding anti foul in shorts and thirst with no protection...
We had 5 days on the hard stand and lived aboard. That was long enough...glad to get back in the water.
We also replaced the head pipes while we were out, pretty simple job but a bit smelly.
