You are correct, but I will not need to cut any live trees or any trees at all. This will be well cured. It is illegal to ship new teak.

I know of a lumber place here (in Germany) that would buy several lots of 1000sqm of 1.5cm and thicker teak, depending upon the grade and cost.

If the amount were big enough you could go directly to a boat manufacturer.

At $27.50 a board foot retail, I'm sure you could make some money if you are buying it right. I know Myanmar (Burma) is raping their forests for hard currency but doubt that it's illegal to ship teak. Teak is too available, though at a steep price, to be subject to an outright ban.
