Pod Repair

We own god nav pod. As the Attached photo shows, pod needs repair. Anyone know where to look for the repair.
Just too expensive to buy another.

Thanks in advance,

hr

Cut some small pieces of plastic or white laminex/formica and glue it over the holes.

Or screw. Thin starboard works fine too.

Re: Pod Repair

If its just the fiberglass repair your looking at its fairly simple to do yourself. U-tube fiberglass repair. Thousands videos showing how to repair. If you want a good one recommended type in "boatworks today". That site has many repairs of items like you show above. Paint to match color. It's kinda satisfying and fun.

If your looking for someone to do for you, any marina will do for a price.

Re: Pod Repair

Any nautical consignment shops in the area? I see old pods all the time.

It’s fiberglass, so fix it with fiberglass. I’d fill and reenforce both holds extending a 2 or 3 clean layers about 1” inch from the edges for the repairs working from the inside of the unit. Once that kicks then clean and fill in the out side holes from the outside. Sand the extra material and add a layer of gel coat.

Sand smooth. Sand with 400, 600, 800 buff and wax.

Keep the repair small and you’ll be done in a few sittings.

Don’t over complicate things... it’s fiberglass
