Pilothouse Windows

We are faced with rebedding or replacing our current tempered glass pilothouse windows. Sounds like a rebed will be somewhat difficult and maybe not last that long. It has been suggested that we might be ahead to replace the windows entirely.

Anyone have experience either way? Can you suggest a vendor for new windows?

I guess ya have to look at how long they lasted till they needed rebedding!! then put that against the cost of the replacement ! if the glass is good then it would seem to me that rebedding would be the way to go ! but then Im a bare bones fella!! if I can do it, I do it ! If you can afford to replace them cus ya want to then theres no reason to not do that ! but for me clear temperd glass is what I would want and Ive rebedded a lot of port lights and windows ! so it would not be a problem for me! just my 2 cents

Go half-inch, through-bolted Lexan for fixed ports and quarter inch tempered for movable. The Lexan WILL score and fade over time, but short of a gunshot should stop any and all waves.

I also like the Newfound Metals portlights for the small venting hatches...they are good quality so far.

I am in the process of raising the cabin roof on my Iroquois catamaran to create a "pilot house". I considered lexan for the new windows, primarily for cost consideration, but decided to bite the bullet and go with manufactured glass/alum. frame windows to match the existing. No other reason. Cost is about $2000. Here are some links to window manufacturers. All have on-line quote forms. In no particular order.
