First, thanks to those who have already offere me advice to questions that I have posted about using scews nails glue etc and about my engine mounts !

I have only been on this forum for about 10 days and already I am very grateful for the help. I am a complete newbie as this is my first boat

I bought the boat (Abisey) two months ago but couldn't spend any time on it until now due to working on my house. Also the place that the boat was left on has no electricity so I have been looking for a suitable generator. I found one - a 4kv deisel that is just great. 3 days after buying it we had a storm here in Fethiye and we had no electricity for 3 days - well wasn't I the fortunate one the only house with lights and a a cold fridge in my area ! - Anyway I have digressed.

Now with my generator put in the back of my Kartal ( a station wagon ) I can run all my power tools.

Hopefully I can do most of the work myself. The first pics show the sorry state she is in now and the others show how she was 3 years ago when new ( I think you can spot the diference)

To my poor eyes, it looks like most of the damage is limited to the rub-rail strake. Am I missing something?

i agree with GordMay if the planks below the rub strake are bad i would replace those. you just have to take the old ones out in one piece to use for templates to cut new ones. i asume the wood is a local variety and would be readily available! no? from what i can see or it appears is that fresh water (rain) is getting behind the planks from the deck edge and or the rub strake fastening holes. or are the water stains behind the finish only. if so a little thinned bleach on the wood after you strip the finish would get rid of most of the stain wash thoughly and refinish

Thanks for that sugestion - I'll try the diluted bleach.
