Thought I'd post a few pics of jobs I've done in the yard. Maybe I'll dredge up some pics from the Cascadia build or Ice Bear, but for now I'll start light. This guy hit something. Hard. Obviously not all stages of the repair are pictured, but it's hard to remember to take pics when you're fully suited and grinding. I used a Turboshear to schedule this one back. The foam in the piece I cut out was put there by the owner to keep her afloat. Last 2 pics are job finished.

Wish I had more pics of this one but there was no time. It was a Nordhavn 60 that hit an almost submerged shipping container 1000 miles offshore in the North Pacific. When I ground out the shattered part of the bulbous bow with my shear, I found that the damage went all the way through. However, the glass was over six inches thick, and the bulbous bow protuberance had been poured full of Portland cement. I'd hate to see what the shipping container looked like!

Those Nordhavens are built better than a brick shirthouse.

Here's some pics from a keel fairing job I did on a J-boat. Believe it was a J-109, about that size anyway. The owner had an architecht draw him a keel shape that was barely within the design rule (I mean by millimetres). I power-planed about 80 lbs. of lead off the keel to acheive this optimal shape, and faired it out. Also did a nice wetsanded No-Foul bottom finished to 1000 grit, but the pics are only of the rig used to make the keel exactly the desired shape. I planed it all down till it was just barely low of the forms. Then I died a batch of epoxy fairing compound bright blue and used it fill the little gap between the forms and the keel. With the forms removed this gave me a series of blue stripes around the keel. I then slicked the whole keel out with 407. When I longboarded it out I knew to stop as soon as I blew through to the blue stripe. When the committee rep came to measure it he couldn't believe I got it so precisely barely within the rule, 1-2 mm almost everywhere. The owner won his race season.
So there you have it, a small boat job. Hope you enjoy.

I guess you can probably tell we do a lot of them. And they sure are. I've ground in to all kinds of boats, but I've never seen anything like the construction you see in those pics. Guess you get what you pay for...
