I think that for shift cables
to have a long life and easiest shift, you'll want a minimum of bend radius.
So, make the bend radius as wide as possible.
The cable manufacturing company include some info on this topic.
Bigger open bends work the best, as shift cables
for the gearbox
on those models tend to be larger.
