Painting After or Before Waxing?

Hello,

I'm just about to start a major stain removal/wax of my old cal 20 and have a couple questions about the polyurethane deck paint.
Should I wax the deck paint as well?
There are a few spots that need touching up, should i do this before or after I wax the boat?
Last one, for applying the polyurethane paint for touch ups over existing paint should I sand down the old paint a bit or just directly apply?

Thanks a lot for the help!

Re: Painting after or before waxing?

don't wax the deck if you intend to walk on it without sliding off.

the poly paint should have instructions on the can. usually you wash the old paint with ammonia to remove any old wax, then lightly sand with 200 grit to provide a 'grip' for the new paint.

just did this myself....
