Osmosis Repair and Rudder rebuild

First: I recently bought a Westerly Berwick 31' and I just got it hauled out. To my dismay I have found a lot of bubbling under the water line in the anti fouling paint. Does anyone know of some good resources for doing osmosis repair? I don't have much money to spend and I have a good back ground with working with my hands so I want to make the repairs myself. Any tips and suggestions are very welcomed.

Second: I also noticed that a chunk of my rudder has been chipped out and the rudder sounds hollow in some spots. Its very clear that water has gotten into the rudder. How hard is it to make a repair to a rudder or rebuild it. Being in the US it is extremely hard to find a spare Berwick rudder laying around.

Maybe this will help. How To Repair Gelcoat Blisters

Fixing a rudder is a DIY job. Just open it up and let it dry out then fill with foam or marine tex and glass it closed again.

Re: Osmosis Repair and Rudder rebuild

thanks for the mental relief! The PDF you gave me on the blister repair is excellent. This is turning out to be less of a task then the original thought I had of it being a mammoth.
