Great idea! Or could I say "Great idea for someone else".
I am not that punctual or... well... you know

On a more particular point or two make sure you are not over servicing. For my engine its: Oil change is every 200-300 hours. Impellor inspection (not change) is 600 hours. Valve adjustment is once a few months after new and then only every blue moon.
So make sure you don't do more work than you need to otherwise its kinda wrecks the whole fun of having a boat.

Maybe put in Check anode in oil cooler. Thats a naughty one because some previous owners may not have for years.

Bottom cleaning by diver monthly? Thats really expensive isn't it? Probably a special thing for where you live.

As we are full time cruising we try to do 1 hour boat work per day (todays was 6 hours and 2 arguments and $60 ) most weekdays.

If the maintenance takes over the whole gig becomes unfun for me.

Mark
PS I have a friend who has a spreadsheet of all the girls he has been out with. If you think its confidential, think again. He wrote a play about them and its been performed in Sydney. Needless to say his character comes off as pretty cool.

What sailor doesn't have a long To Do list?

I have items on mine which I can't seem to get to because they are low on the totem pole of prioritie - usually the cosmetic stuff like cleaning and polishing.

Lists

Things which must be done frequently and are like checklists before departure.

Tools and where they are stowed

Provisions and where they are stowed

safety gear, floatation dev, med kit, MOB gear, ditch bag, life raft dates,

Spares and where they are stowed (filters, oil, fuses, pumps, bulbs, gas horn)

Hardware fasteners, clamps, hose etc.

Engine maintenance schedule, steering maintenance, winch and windlass maintenance

Renewal projects - tend to be long term - life lines, running rigging, standing rigging, upholstery, varnish, bottom paint

constant cleaning and checking of and/or lubrication of blocks, shackles, ground tackle, dinghy

There are lists of lists! Don't leave home without 'em.
