O'Day 30 table removal and settee removal

I'm finally looking seriously at a boat as a live aboard.
1979 O'Day 30 sailboat for sale in Maine
Question- I don't like the table in the center of the floor and would like to remove it and put a small drop down on the bulkhead.
Would removing the table cause any ill effects?
I'd also like to remove one of the settee's and build storage cabinets in it's place. Would this cause any structural issues?

Re: O'Day 30 table removal and settee removal

Removing the table should be no issue at all.

In regards to the setee they both look like they have bulkheads at either end. You need to be cautious as these bulkheads may support the deck above.

I have removed similar bulkheads on my boat and have not decided whether to replace with compression posts instead. Deck flex is noticeable for me but minor.

Still deciding.

I would certainly leave the bulkheads in place- just removing the settee- but didn't know if it was integral to the hull support. Though I do like the idea of opening it up and hadn't thought about removing it- I'd put a compression post in though.
