new SS316 Centerboard-Bottom Paint?

I will be installing my new SS316 Centerboard soon. It's a 300# board made of Stainless Steel 316. I've been told I probable should not coat it with epoxy. Does one use Bottom Paint? Copper based not good idea? Any recommendations?

If the boat lives in saltwater, you are going to need some sort of anti fouling on the centerboard and you will need to put a primer on the metal before applying an anti fouling paint.
