Is there any idea how much fuel she burns at normal cruising speed? Will u have to pay for moorage when u take her back home? If so .... ??? Will u have a full time engineer on board? Will u live on her full time ? I am so curious about such a project.
Yeah - sorry, was in a rush to go out somewhere last night. Great questions.

1. This vessel cost around a million dollars NZD.
2. Well - still a few days - but this haul out probably looking to spend around $100,000 NZD.
3. She burns 40 litres across both engines (20 a side) cruising at 9 knts. Very very economical.
4. Yes, we pay around $2000 a month to moor the boat in the heart of the city which includes 2 carparks.
5. No full time engineer. The running gear is in great condition now - and I will have the previous owner and his son help out for advice where required, and pay a local firm for any hard work - out of my reach.
6. Yes - I live on her fulltime with my girlfriend.

Not quite sure if that correlates with your " I'm not made of money" statement in post one.

Not made of money compared to Richard Brandon perhaps?

Nice looking boat and good luck in learning about her and maintaining her. My 30 gallon, approx. 120 liter, fuel tank pales in comparison to your 3 tanks...altho you will move quicker than my 6 knots, via diesel or sail, and carry a lot more people...enjoy.

Sleaper, what size deck gun will be mounted? I also like the mine sweeper barrels on the aft fan tail. Smile.

Man, that is really a cool ship. I wish you the best. I am quite surprised to hear how economical the fuel is for that large of a ship. Respects and Happy Times

Thanks Alan,

Funny - it used to have a 50 calibre machine gun mounted.

Yes, a very economical boat to run. Her hull design sees her glide through the water almost silently too with little wake if any.

This is very interesting to me, I will soon be re-fitting a 97-foot gaff-rigged ketch in Guatemala and have many of the same issues you have faced.

Re: New purchase : New Project : 94 foot Ex Navy Vessel

Well we are back in the water now, but not without a few issues.

For the last 7 days we spent anchored in bays about 2 hours from our normal berth. Been nice to be back in the water.

The boat feels very different - but I am soo happy to have her back in the water and in absolutely great condition following the work.

I am working on some videos etc to be uploaded for all to view.
