New Bottom Paint Peeling off Old Paint

We bought our boat 9 months ago and just hauled out to do bottom paint. All loose or flaking areas were scraped well. Then they rolled on first coat and the new paint is like eating away at the paint under it. We are using vspar paint. Any ideas?

Re: New bottom paint peeling off old paint

It sounds like the new paint isn't compatable with the old. The only real fix was to either use compatable paint, or now, to take everything off to the barrier coat and start over.
