I bought a Sailrite
and am having a blast with it. It's pretty easy once you get through making beginners mistakes
. It takes time, though and that's why the prices are as high as they are. As mentioned in a previous post... the differences in details can reflect significantly on the cost. Another couple of factors affecting cost are the measuring and the final adjustments.
BTW: If it's just the thread going on your top, why not have it re-sewn?
