Need Comparisons Of KBT......

Keel Bolt torque. What was yours? (Not a bad pillow talk line!)

Do you torque keel bolts up on a new build loaded or unloaded with weight of keel.
Perhaps, preload supported & final torque unsupported?
My calculation for torque for 16mm 2205SS was 138 ftLbs- sound reasonable?

Being derived from:
Target Torque ft.lbs. = (Nut Factor x Nominal Dia. Inches x (.75 x yield strength )) /12

I haven't yet compensated for diameter reduction owing to thread.
138 is probably a bit high. My 2% yield was 536N/mm^2 direct from manufacturers batch heat sheet.

My boat is displaces 5 tonne 1.5tonne ballast, 14 bolts.
