Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Before we get carried away on the foredeck, we shot this area of the hull (I'll call it the quarterdeck) in Claret Awlcraft, to accentuate the natural sheer line of the boat. Here it is in 545, and beginning 400 grit prep.

Quarterdeck stripe in claret. It is being polished wet here. You can see the guide coat.

Minaret, beautiful work!

I'm extra fond of the mud hog and makita 9227c... You've gone fine taste.

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Great work. Takes me back. I have been in the water for 3 years after 5 on the hard rebuilding my project. Its impossible to describe the detail of the work involved, unless their is some common ground, congratulations and well done.

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Ha ha on re reading this sounds like I'm saying huge amount of work for me I mean for you! All the same in my mind and maybe stupidly, work on a boat is kind of special, yeah I know it's a love hate thing but for some reason boats just seem worthy of it. Call me crazy!

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

Well, don't stop now... Fascinating to see. Positive that we all want to see it completed and afloat.
Sorry to hear about the crime. I had somewhat the same experience over a ten year period... It took that long to finally catch the a**holes. Sometimes just cause an animal has two legs, that doesn't mean its a person.

Re: Nauticat 52 Refit

My nicest topcoating rig. No, this is not brand new, it has shot a ton of paint (OK, I may have just installed some new hoses). Takes a lot of work to keep them looking that way, but that's the difference between a real pro's gun and some hack's gun.
