No, I've been with you from the start & (now!) remember the foam part. I don't think I understood what was going on at the time. In fact, I'm not sure there's enough bandwith out there to handle my questions everytime I don't know what's going on! (Like what the heck is that power tool??!).

My Bristol has a solid glass hull & cockpit combing, but cored decks. Haven't heard of too many boats like yours that also have solid decks. Is there a downside (for me, wgt. is NOT a downside on a big cruising boat). I thought the coring was used to stiffen the decks & provide insulation. Must be nice never having to worry about your decking getting soft!

Lol! We sure do think alike on the weight front, it's not about total weight as much as weight distribution. Gotta put it in the right places. Can't get away with it in a smaller boat, but it makes sense in a boat this size, solid decks that is. I've replaced and repaired so many countless acres of deck core that a non cored boat was one of my prerequisites. And now here I am laminating a foam core on the deck to replace the teak! At least I know it won't rot...

Believe me, many jokes have been cracked about this! I think there is a betting pool as to whether I'll ever allow anyone to use it...

When all is said and done there will be very little original material left here. Frames are white oak.
