Nameboard Letters

After battling for days I've eventually managed to get the carved nameboard off the transom.

Now I need to clean it up, oil it, and get some 4" letters to attach to it.
I like the look of gold on teak, but gold is a bit out of our league and any normal metal letters will probably soon look tacky very quickly.
I believe you can get injection molded ones with a lifetime guarantee.
Does anyone have any experience with this stuff?
