Mounting instruments at helm

Hello,

I am looking for a nice and practical way to mount the chartplotter, wind readout and maybe VHF at the helm of our 33' sailboat. What I invision is a double walled board to mount the instruments in, preferably to halfs, that can be unscrewed for wirering etc. and mount this to the wheel pedestal.

It is hard for me to discripe this, so I have attached a picture of a similar mounting. I am looking for a 'board' 8" x 12" or so.

Hope for some help about supplies along the BC, Canada coast.

With best wishes,

Biermann

On Ebay someone is selling the type of instrument pod (4 gauges) you are showing in the picture for US $ 50 + shipping. Considering the fact that these pod-boxes tend to be so expensive one would think they are made out of gold; this may be a very good price.

Here is the link (hope it works):
eBay Motors: AUTOHELM 4 INSTRUMENT POD STORMRAIL MOUNT MODEL D172 (item 200070783965 end time Jan-26-07 06:38:18 PST)

Good luck!

Hello, thank you to both of you for your answers. Edson has some stuff in their catalog on page 50 or so, but not high enough. I like to mount a Lowrance LMS-337 Lowrance Electronics -- Marine Products -- LMS-337C DF centered, wind readout to port and in the future a VHF on starboard. For this I need a minimum of 14" wide and not 8, but better 10" high.

I will search again in Edson's cataloge today.

Kind regards, Biermann
