When sailing down wind
my 500 pound bronze centerboard
wobbles from side to side. I pulled the boat and have taken the brackets off that hold the pivot pin. Most of the play seems to be because the holes in the brackets are about an 1/8 th inch bigger in diameter than the pin. There really isn't any sign of wear on the pin or brackets. My question is, while it seems unlikely, is it possible that Charlie Morgan
intended for the board to be this loose? My I inclination is to have a machine shop put bushings in the brackets but maybe it should be left as is. Any ideas?
