Mold / Mildew Stains inside the boat!

Need some advise for getting rid of the awful black stains from inside our boat. We purchased it used and it was in rough shape. I have gotten everything cleaned but the "carpet" fabric inside the cabin. I tried a mildew stain remover for boats and followed the directions but it only lightened the spot and managed to "fuzz" the carpet. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

It's going to require something like a bleach to kill the stuff that is alive and fabric does not always come clean once you do. You'll need to figure out what the fabric material is so you can figure out what will work without total destruction of the fabric. Removing the stain is the hard part. Removing the fabric might be the better option.

Thank you! Not exactly sure what the fabric is ( this is our 1st boat) but it is a Carpet like fabric that lines the ceiling area of the cabin. I mixed bleach, laundry detergent and water in a spray bottle and soaked the areas until they dried then reapplied the same mixture and then vacuumed with a wet vac and thus far the stains are gone. Thank you again for taking the time to respond.

Dawg,
If it's the same stuff they use in Corsair trimarans, it's commonly referred to as "Mouse Fur".
