Looking for a service manual for a Volvo MD31A
OK, I was looking before at a boat that had an MD30A in it, but now it looks like I'll be buying one with an MD31A in it, a wholly different animal.
I've looked on the usual websites for the manual without luck. Anyone out there know where I can find a service manual for a Volvo MD31A? Many thanks, Allan |

Nice try Gord, but the MD31A is very different from the MD2010, MD2020, MD2030, and MD2040. But please keep your eyes peeled.

MD31A (from SN-2203116854) - Volvo Penta Or Exploded views / schematics and spare parts for Volvo Penta MD31A, MD31 - MarinePartsEurope.com Although just Parts catalogue(s), the sites include Exploded Drawings, which often help. Eg:

OMC Saildrive - Zephyr
The OMC Sail Drive (also known as the Zephyr) was built from 1977 thru 1984. It utilizes a 32 cubic inch powerhead (which commonly powers the 20/25/30 hp outboards). Parts are getting kinda scarce for these drive units, but maintenance type parts are reportedly still available. You may find certain gaskets will have to be custom mad. A service manual which covers all model-year sail drives is available under p/n 983669 (about $45). Any Johnson/Evinrude dealer can order it for you, just see the parts manager and give them this p/n. Also, the computer system indicates they're ONLY AVAILABLE thru the main warehouse in WI, make sure the parts guy knows this.
