I think I will rely on my two ( redundant ) propane sensors to tell me if there is a problem.
I always turn the propane off at the tank after each use for my own peace of mind.
Besides the electronic switched shutoff in the galley.
G`day MAKA ,

is your gas pipe the flexable type all the way from the bottle to the stove ,

On my contessa its a 14 inch flex pipe then stainless steel pipe ti the stove with a manual shut off valve and a 12vdc solinoid to electricaly shut down the flow ,

I was thinking that would be an expensive gas pipe if its 20+ foot long , ?

cheers Rob ,,,,

Re: Life of Gas (propane) hoses

Yes, I'm also a belt and suspenders guy when it comes to propane. I turn everything off - stove, switch, secondary electronic switch, and propane tank valve when I'm done with the stove.

I'm glad I read this thread - I had vaguely thought about replacing the propane hoses, but now I will make it a priority, because I have no docs from PO on when it was last done, and the boat is 37 years old this year.

Re: Life of Gas (propane) hoses

The guy at the propane place who made up my hose told me that the hoses last " practically forever". I'm taking him at his word
