I'm guessing that the new lenses are thicker than the old. We made 12 new ones for ours - and had a similar problem for a bit. Measure the 2 and see if there's a difference. On ours, a little bit of time helped them fit just fine. It took a bit to get them closed at first.
BTW, we did our own lenses and it cost us about $7 each. Our seals
were fine, except that the silicone that was used on them was failing. So, we removed the seals
, cleaned out the channels with a Dremel & wire brush, cleaned the seals, coated them lightly in silicone grease, and replaced them.
