Lewmar Cobra classic steering piedestal

Have some slack in my piedestal. In the bottom there is an arm, appr 20 cm with a link. Measured by the link, the slack is about 2-3 mm. Is that to much? Do i have to take action on it, and what parts would it typicaly be that is worn? It is only 19 years old!
