Leaky Dipstick?

Dipstick on thirty year old Universal Diesel doesn't seal well, leaks oil.

Was thinking I could sleeve over the rubber plug part with electrical heat shrink tubing to make for a tighter fit. Any thoughts on the chemical resistance of said tubing?

Any other options? Haven't tried to source a replacement yet. Not sure if I can find one, maybe through a Kubota dealer.

Hate to say it, but you might have more than a leaky dip stick. Dip sticks should not need a tight seal to stop leaking. You could have blow by into the crankcase and this would explain why oil is finding its way up and out. If that is the problem, you will not solve it with a new dipstick.
