Kill Switch cable

I am having trouble replacing the kill switch cable on a Yamar 20 engine. the length of cable far exceeds the outer sheathing. Do I cut the excess?

Re: Kill Switch cable

Yes - so long as the engine cuts out when you operate the stop lever in the cockpit, or by the engine box, you can cut it off. Leave the minimum amount to clamp it properly, though.
