Question Keel Construction

Anyone know how the fin keel on a 1978 Cal 2-25 is constructed and attached to the hull?

It is an integral keel. The keel is part of the hull, a piece of lead is placed in it and then it is glassed in.

"encapsulated" keel is what Oday, Pearson, and others called it. Still a mystery to me as to how all the weight stays put without keel bolts.

The same way your internal organs stay put. They're inside a structure. What you have just describe is the biggest single advantage of an internal ballasted boat. The keel won't/can't fall off!

Thanks to all for your input. I was concerned that there might be a plywood form inside the keel which could eventually rot.
