Keel Bolts or Studs? Hughes 40

I have a 1978 Hughes 40 and I am planning to check the keel fasteners. Can anybody advise what method was used to fasten the keel on these vessels. Did they use studs, or bolts threaded into the lead keel?

I was always under the impression they used J hooked bolts that were moulded into the lead keel.

I recently replaced the nuts and washers on my keel bolts. They were sealed in some type of resin that was easily chipped off and were bright an shinny underneath.

Of course I can't guarantee the condition of the bolts without lifting the boat off the keel.

Thanks Freerider. I was hoping it would be bolts. Dropping the keel will be a major hassle given that's its all faired in.
My stainless bolts all look in good order as well but it's what you can't see that needs the investigation in the long term. Maybe I'll wait until planning on a major cruise before going to the trouble.
