It has been mentioned before about how, since carbon fiber
is so conductive (well, the fibers are), lightning will destroy
a carbon fiber hull's integrity. Fantastically expensive to build
and absolute toast if zapped by Zeus. If you are Larry Ellison,
no problem. Me, a bit more.

Anyway, good to meet you and yes, I do agree that not all
new tech is desirable (or needed). Take my 1911, for instance...

Haven't heard about that one before. Just looked it up. I've had my car for 8 years and no problems so far.

Apparently living in a society that protects your basic rights is not enough, you also don't want to be inconvenienced by anything that is intended to be for the general good and is not to your immediate benefit. There are any number of places in the world you can sail to an not be inconvenienced in this manner. Yemen come to mind.

Hear, hear, let's do away with all subsidies to agriculture and fossil fuel companies. Why should my hard earned tax dollars go to increasing the already large profits in those industries?

K I'm in Belgium, so could be diff over here, but...
- My dual flush toilet never has a prob with eliminate anything

- Shower never a prob either

- Incandescent lights? I just tried 1 (yes 1) 2cm x 2cm 10watt and it lights up better then a 60w cand. bulb
LED runs on 12v, incandescent on 220v. Life expectancy +50000 for the LED vs 1000 on the incan. I really cant see the downside of that. 6 times less consumption and at least 50 times the lifespan.

- Tire pressure sensor? If u dont pay attention (and a lot of people dont), running with too flat a tire will give added wear on the tyre and a lot of other components on your car, resulting in a higher cost then $350 in 7 yrs. So I dont see the downside on that either.

The government should govern, yes. But a lot of people I think dont pay as much attention to things as they should, and so they need to be pampered, sadly enough.
