My
boat came with an older tiller pilot (Raymarine ST1000) that was convienently (
) stored in the
bilge by the previous owner. I intially never used the tiller pilot.
Earlier this summer I tried it out and found that it would not
power on. I opened up the casing and found it filled with
water. There was a fair amount of rust on the
electrical circuit boards, etc. I dried it out and cleaned it up as best as I could but haven't plugged it back in yet because the
boat is currently stored for the
winter.
Is my tiller pilot toast? Would the
water damage render it worthless? Any chance it's repairable? Worth repairing? I'm not that great with
electrical "stuff" so I appologize for the naive questions.
