Interior Wall Covering

Im hoping to gut and replace the cabin wall covering this winter. Does anyone know of a good product to use? I currently have the carpet-like material on the walls and ceiling. I assume thats the best way to go, but Im having trouble finding it.

We had carpet like material in our boat and ripped it all out. It tends to hold moisture and and gets a little stinky moldy after a while. The wife painted the interior white where the carpet was. Easy to keep clean and brightens the place up. If I was to reline it with anything I think I would go with some kind of cork for the insulation and sound deadening effect.

I just completed a refit on our 52' Kanter. Where the walls had been covered with adhesive vinyl and foam, I removed everything and covered them with commercial grade vinyl wallpaper.
I prepped the walls with Zissner wallpaper prep which contains KILZ to prevent mold. I used commercial glue designed for kitchens. I caulked all raw edges.
Came out beautiful and was not too much $$.
A few swear words were heard during the job, especially around the portholes.

My next-slip neighbor is a Kanter 52.
Most gorgeous yacht ever built without a teak interior.

Thanks, they are great boats. Ours has a solid cherry, satin finished interior... absolutely beautiful. Most Kanters are laminate with wood trim, but our was built by a wood craftsman who put in tons of custom touches and inlaid detail.... will never get rid of this boat... where else will I find one with four built in hidden wine racks???? I have just purchased my first sailboat, last week! I have the same type of question. My wall covering looks like a weave and I read somewhere it's a type of oilcloth wall paper? Does anyone have ideas on this? The boat is from 1975 and is a small 27 foot. Thanks for any info.
