Inexpensive, Yet Quality Portholes!

Hi,

I just had 8 of these portholes delivered Bronze 26cm portholes



I have been hunting around for a while and thought I would share the love

What are you putting those on.
Did you get the external backing ring?

How do you plan to mount the porthole..it has no spigot and no outer trim ring? It looks like a decorative item to me.

yeah i got the rings.. cost another £20 each which is, according to the boss at trinity portholes, pretty much what they pay their manufacturer for them,i believe him having felt the weight of it.. this grade of gun metal aint cheap...


for my sins i have bought an ex admiralty MFV live aboard cruiser which i'm doing up from top to bottom, currently adding spec and story to a little website...will link you when i have done it..

So these 'inexpensive' portlights are over $300 USD with the ring and then you have to ship them? With a weight of more than 28 lbs each, shipping is going to add up, especially if you live in North America (they come from the UK). Their website says, "...replacement of the glass or conversion to a mirror or frosted effect [is] very simple..". This sounds much more like a decorative item then a true offshore product. Buyer beware.
