Re: i am re-naming my boat '5200'

This weekend, I was going to glue a piece of trim onto our golf cart. My wife came out and the only thing she said was, "If you use that white stuff, please don't get it on everything."

Not sure I can either.

I don't know, but we turn 5200 white pretty quick. I think I'm about to toss some Mahogany and not reorder it.

Ocean Girl, ask me for a quote on the paint when you're ready for it. Maybe we'll have a special sale then! Send me an email through the website. I see them all.
Yeah, the Mahogany is def a wierd color once exposed to the sun. The Tan not too bad. I could see using the mahogany if you were using 5200 as a glue on teak. (think I built a laminated bowsprit/platform that way eons ago).

That's funny... and so true! I love it when I do big sealant job, masking, filleting get it perfect, go down in the boat and she says, "you have that goop on your elbow". You go back up and sure enough, somehow , picking up the tools and stuff you got into it and messed up your fillet!
But have you ever noticed that just when you try to use 5200 for something like that golf cart thinking it will never come off... sure nuff... it peels right off! Funny how tenacious it can be in one application and not so in another.

Re: i am re-naming my boat '5200'

Having a couple of older steelies we have accustomed ourselves to the "work boat patenia." It all looks the same through the bottom of a tumbler, on a nice warm evening, sitting in the cockpit, till I try to stand up and can't cause I glued my damn pants to the seat.

I have so many hand tools with little smears of 5200 on them. Brings back all sorts of memories when I use them. Some good, some not so.

Don't worry, once the tools finally release, you won't have to look at them as often.

As far as I know it's still in the garage - sold that house 5 years ago.

But sure! I'll sell it!

5200 isn't that bad for traveling. Now blue pigment? THAT stuff gets everywhere.
