Hypalon vs PVC glue Big Problem?

I have some of the tabbing on my Zodiac PVC dink detach from the hard bottom. Went to everyone's favorite marine store and purchased a tube of PVC glue. After gluing everything down I see on the tube "HYPALON". What can happen and what are my options.

You can waste your time and money and the patch blow out on the water, with the dink being lost & you being rescued. Or not.

"what are my options."
Ergh, buy the right glue and expect the repair might hold? Or use the wrong glue, but buy life insurance being going out in the dink?

Hypalon glue is a contact type rubber cement. If you used it on PVC it will probably just peal off. The best (and easiest to use) glue for PVC is Clifton's. available for Jacks Plastic Welding. These guys make river rafts out of PVC using this glue. I've tried the stuff from "marine" stores and there is no comparison:

If it is the 2 part kind of glue, you are ok. If it were 1 part glue you are not ok. The thinner/cleaner can also be different for pvc and hypalon..

SC4000 is a German product available here in Aus but not sure if in the US. It is a glue for welding conveyor belts used in the mining industry. We have used this glue on both PVC and Hypalon with great success. It has a long shelf life and comes in black or white. It is a contact glue and one needs to mask with greeseproof paper to prevent over gluing. Highly recommended!

2 part Hypalon glue will work on pvc but pvc glue will not work on Hypalon.

+1 for SC4000, used it on Avon, Achilles and AB's but down our way the only color available is green!!!
