Hypalon Dingy Transom Replacement Adhesive

Hi Folks

Been living onboard for a year and a half now...long time since I been on the forum.

Quick question. I'm in the Philippines with limited resources. I'm replacing the rotted transom of my dingy and intend to use 3M 5200 to glue the new transom to the hypalon. Not many choices for adhesives...any problem using 5200???

Brian, I'm not too sure about the bond strength between 5200 and Hypalon. I'd be tempted to add hardwood or aluminium battens over the bond area with a few wood screws to hold the sandwich together... just in case! It would make holding it together whilst the 5200 goes off easier, too.

It's an important bond.. having it fail and thus propelling the outboard into the dink with you is a pretty scary (if unlikely) prospect.
