Hurricane Ike Repair Referrals Needed

Hi everyone.

My boat, a 1987 CSY/Gulfstar 50 received mainly cosmetic damage during hurricane IKE last week. She will need scratches and gouges repaired and a hull paint job (painted 3 years ago with Interlux 2 part urethane), and a new bottom job, boot stripe, lettering, etc.

My old boatyard in Galveston is practically gone, and the ones I've used in Kemah, etc. are already getting booked up for many months out.

I'm looking for referrals to a quality boat yard on the Gulf Coast....maybe Alabama or Florida, or even Mexico or Belize that could handle the repair of a boat this size.

She is structurally still sound for a Gulf Crossing...she just did the Vera Cruz race and back.

If anyone has had good experiences with a yard that fits this criteria, I would appreciate a referral!

In Mobile Bay we have Turners Marina and Dog River Marina. They both have large travel lifts and do excellent work.

Steve, I'd try House of Boats in Rockport. Close enough to get there and back fairly quickly, and a decent place to have work done. They will also let you do some of your own...
