Hurricane Damaged Boats Available

Hurricane Damaged Boats
I am in St Maarten and have contacts in the insurance industry who are dealing with the damaged boats in the BVI's.
We have set up a program from the list of boats for sale by the insurers, around 400 boats can be salvaged. We will purchase the boat of your choice, mostly 44'-58' catamarans by Lagoon and FP, and mono hulls from Beneteau, Jeanneau, and Dufour. The prices range from $10K - $120K depending on condition. No hull damaged boats or boats that sank.
After purchase we will arrange to transport the vessel to St Maarten where we will put the boat in the yard and do a complete refit to bring the vessel back to like new condition with a crew of yacht refit professionals.
This program is for buyers who were in the market for a newer boat, less than 6 years old, and are ready to purchase right now, and have the cash.
There is limited space available as we can only work on a small number of boats at one time, and have limited qualified repair people.
This is an opportunity for a buyer to get a newer boat and save 40% - 60% off the price of the used boat prior to the storm.
We are NOT interested in do-it yourself buyers as we are going to do all the refit work ourselves to the highest standards and this costs substantial money.
One example is a client who is buying a 2014 lagoon for $90,000 which needs around $250,000 with of refit work to put it back in like new condition. The retail for this boat is about $900,000. So when we are done the owner will have a huge savings on a very good boat. The purchased boat will be titled in the new owners name from date of purchase and he/she will be responsible for all expenses from that day forward.
If you have an interest in this program there are a couple of spots remaining so pm me with your contact information to discuss.
No dreamers, and we will not be sharing our list of available boats either.

Re: Hurricane Damaged Boats Available

Are insurance companies totaling boats when 250k will repair them? It may be more expedient for them because of the sheer number of boats damaged?

Good luck on your business.

I am looking for a good stainless arch for a Beneteau 423. That is a piece that could have been submerged. Maybe somebody knows of one. It could be shipped back as you can scratch it but not much else can go wrong.

Let me know if can help

Re: Hurricane Damaged Boats Available

Sounds interesting. I hope some boats will find new homes and the whole outcome will help minimise the eco footprint of the damage done by the storm.

Standing by and listening to others,
b.

Can you list type of boats and work needed on each? Total cost, period. Guarantees? Are you bonded?

Re: Hurricane Damaged Boats Available

We DO NOT have access to parts
We are only going to deal with buyers who want to purchase a boat as outlined in the original post.
At this point we only have a partial list of the total boats available as it is taking some time for them to sort through all the boats and make determinations.
I will be on the ground in BVI in 7-10 days and will have more info then.
The best mono hulls so far are all Dufour. 405, 425, 46, 56.
I have not heard of any power cats yet but I'm sure there will be some eventually.
The charter fleet was about 2,000 strong and 80% are going to be total loss or sold.

Re: Hurricane Damaged Boats Available

So, if I were to pick a boat out of your list of "salvageable" boats, do you provide the prospective buyer with a breakdown and estimated cost of the repairs required and a time frame in which the repairs can be accomplished? Would there be any type of warranty covering the repairs over a certain period of time, that is? I'd be interested but would not blindly buy a boat not knowing how much the repairs would cost and no possible warranty on the work being performed.

Are you interested in buying a boat?
We wil explain EXACTLY how this will work to buyers who are ready to go RIGHT NOW so as to not repeat ourselves or get into some kind of debate with experts on the forum. We have 2 more spots available for buyers as of now, regardless of type or size of boat. We will not commit to an unlimited number of buyers as we can not refit more than a handfull of boats in the next 12 months and do it right.
