Hunter Headliner Repairs

The fixed ports on my 2008 Hunter leaked behind the vinyl headliner surrounding the ports, subsequently destroying the plywood backing. Unfortunately, I can't figure how to remove the vinyl headliner to allow me access to remove the damaged materials. I do know that the actual headliner material is pushed into a track around the edge of the overhead. Just don't know how to get it out to remove the material surrounding the fixed ports. Any suggestions?
