Hunter 54: Update Two

It's been a while since the last update so I thought to let you guys see what's up with the boat.
The interior is starting to go back together after all of the pieces were cut, including three bulkheads and the port and starboard salon parts (all of them).

Here are a few shots:

Aft head

Nav area

Aft berth bulkhead

Aft bulkhead (no flash)

Forward berth

Starboard settee shelving (not trimmed yet)

Forward salon bulkhead portside (not stained yet)

Then there's the deck

Here's some core work shots

Fresh core and glass

More core work

Foredeck

Hull (needs fairing yet)

This is the system I used to maintain the camber of the housetop

and

That's it for now. More next time.

CC-

Looking good! On the camber supports, do you just force a flexible batten into place, or are they laminated in place in order to hold the original shape?

Re: Hunter 54 update two

Just some strip cut white oak set on the support end. They form a natural arch.

Re: Hunter 54 update two

Holy Cow!

That's one heck of a project. It's looking pretty good. I've wondered what was ment by core work (I'm still new) and actually seeing it, I'm surprised but so long as the hull integrity stays intact, it's all good.

This is definately going to be well worth the effort. Good Job so far!

Re: Hunter 54 update two

I was just curious, How much work has gone into this so far?

I'm looking forward to seeing how it all turns out.

About 600 man hours. The interior came a long way today. It should be back together Monday.
